Monday 29th March - Making the cool look un-cool.

Today I have been set a new brief to design an anti drugs poster for Loughborough University. Specifically the poster has been commissioned to target the rise in "popularity" of the drug Mephedrone which is starting to reach epidemic levels. The drug has been grabbing headlines across the newspapers for the last few weeks and Loughborough have now taken it upon themselves to protect their students against these so called "legal highs."

I have started by brainstorming a few ideas. It's a difficult task, the poster obviously has to be eye catching and appealing for it's message to be effective. At the same time you are trying to "unsell" a product. Making the cool (in the targets opinion) look un-cool.
